Your Missionary Journey Starts Here

LifeStyleTV has teamed up with the Swedish Seventh-day Adventist Church and their One Year in Mission program to provide missionary opportunities for service in a media and hospitality ministry with a strong health and lifestyle focus. This is a great chance for university graduates who want to use some of their newly acquired professional skills while serving others, add an overseas experience to their CV, and spend an unforgettable year in the mission field. It is also a great idea for young people who are ready to start college but not sure which line of study to pursue, or who just need a meaning full, purpose filled break before starting university.

Are you good with people? Up for an adventure? Willing to spend a year as a missionary in service for others? Willing to help with whatever is needed?

Then this may be just what you are looking for!!!!

Made by missionaries — about being a missionary at LifeStyleTV in Sweden!

A comprehensive health ministry

LifeStyleTV was established in 2005 as a satellite broadcasting network. It has since changed focus to distribute via web and apps, and has expanded to also include a retreat center. Volunteers coming to help will be involved in both the media and hospitality areas of the ministry.

Media Ministry – THE GOSPEL SHARED

At LifeStyleTV you may be involved in everything from being a talent or host in front of a camera, planning productions, setting lights and designing sets, floor directing, camera, directing, graphics, editing, illustrating and more! This is where the gospel message is presented.

Without communication, all the work of production is lost. People won’t watch what they don’t know about. This is where information about the gospel message is shared. You can help with marketing strategies, creative writing, branding, social media and more!

If it looks good, more people are likely to investigate further. This is the wrapping paper around the gospel message. You can release your creativity with design for print, such as our LifeStyleVIEW magazine, and for TV, as well as assisting with set designs, logos, websites, and more, to present the whole image of LifeStyleTV.

Hospitality Ministry – THE GOSPEL EXPERIENCED

In connection with our studio, we have a retreat center where we run conferences, seminars and retreat stays where guests can learn and experience what we promote on LifeStyleTV.

You can get a chance to meet guests upon arrival at our retreat center and make sure they feel welcomed and comfortable. A smiling face, an encouraging word of hope, can go a long way to show the love of Jesus to people who are hurting. Walking with guests in nature, serving them breakfast, or just making sure that their room is clean and inviting, can make a difference for eternity. Service is the gospel in practice. You will learn to have a service-minded mentality, with a warm heart for people and a sense of order and organization.

When it feels good, people listen. In a world filled with stress and fear, giving a relaxing massage is one way to be the hands of the gospel. You can help inspire guests to lifestyle changes through your example, and encourage them when challenges arise as they make the changes.

If the food doesn’t taste good, nothing else matters. Preparing delicious, healthful food is one way of practically sharing the gospel. You can assist with preparing plant-based meals to be served with a smile to our retreat guests. Besides this, there can be cooking for TV-shows and recipe development for the magazine and web. You can gain a good knowledge of tasty vegan cooking and presentation, as well as food service hygiene and organization. Most of all, you will experience how hospitality is a powerful way of sharing the gospel in tangible ways. As someone once said, “there is a lot of religion in a good loaf of bread”.

MISSIONARY LIFE

You are interested in coming to LifeStyleTV but want to know more?

Where will I live?

We have several buildings where missionaries typically live, and this may vary from year to year. Be prepared to share a room with a new friend. Each location is within a few kilometers from LifeStyleTV’s headquarters – close enough to walk or bike. On one of the properties there is a 13-hole mini-golf course, grill sites, outdoor games, as well as the start of several hiking trails into the forest – so lots of things to enjoy during your stay.

How does the week look?

A typical day at LifeStyleTV begins at 8:30 with a worship to seek God’s guidance and wisdom to serve Him, followed by a short organizational meeting.

On Sabbath you can be involved in our local church plant. There will also be many opportunities to share your faith through involvement in community activities, seeking to reach out and help our neighbors. This could be cooking classes, the Christmas market, health expos, musical programs and more.

What about food?

Plant-based vegan meals are provided, and you will get to help with preparation and clean-up.

Where is LifeStyleTV?

LifeStyleTV is located in the rural Värmland district of Sweden, near the city of Arvika. For international travel, the closest major airport is Oslo Gardermoen in Norway, about two hours away. Being in such a rural location gives many opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking, canoeing, swimming, skiing, biking, bird/nature watching and more. However, just because LifeStyleTV is out in the country doesn’t mean there are no cultural attractions. Located just a few kilometers away is an outdoor folk museum that hosts large (up to 40,000 people) cultural festivals and craft fairs throughout the year.
